Byron Buxton is going back on the Minnesota Twins disabled list, while right-hander Ervin Santana has had a setback while rehabbing in the minors.

Buxton went on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday as he continues to have problems with a fractured big left toe.

Santana is still having problems with the middle finger on his pitching hand, which required offseason surgery.

Buxton went on the disabled list on April 18 with a migraine and in his first minor league rehab game fouled a ball off his left foot, suffering the hairline fracture.

He was reinstated on May 10, but hit .122 with 17 strikeouts and one walk in 49 at-bats over 17 games before landing back on the disabled list.

Santana threw 59 pitches over 3⅓ innings in a Tuesday start for Class A Fort Myers, allowing one run and two hits.

Minnesota recalled right-hander Aaron Slegers from Triple-A Rochester, where he was 5-2 with a 3.27 ERA.

Giants righty on DL

The San Francisco Giants placed right-hander Jeff Samardzija on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder tightness.

Samardzija left his start Tuesday after throwing 23 pitches and giving up two runs in the first inning.

He’s 1-4 with a 6.56 ERA this season.

The Giants recalled righty Tyler Beede from Triple-A Sacramento.

Beede made two starts with San Francisco in April, going 0-1 with a 8.22 ERA.

Dodgers’ righty on DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Kenta Maeda on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a mild left hip strain.

Also on the DL are Clayton Kershaw (left biceps strain), Rich Hill (left middle finger blister) and Hyun-Jin Ryu (left groin strain).

The Dodgers recalled right-hander Dennis Santana from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Maeda’s spot on the active roster.

It is Santana’s first time on a major league roster.

Cubs’ Darvish update

Chicago Cubs right-hander Yu Darvish has inflammation in his right triceps but no structural damage.

He could start a throwing program as soon as the weekend.

Darvish signed to a $126 million, six-year contract in February as a free agent.

The Cubs also placed right-handed reliever Carl Edwards Jr. on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, and recalled right-hander Cory Mazzoni from Triple-A Iowa.

Brewers recall Arcia

Shortstop Tyler Saladino has a sprained left ankle and has been put on the 10-day disabled list by the Milwaukee Brewers.

The team recalled shortstop Orlando Arcia from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Saladino is hitting .324 in 16 games. Arcia had a .194 batting average in 44 games before he was sent down last Friday.
