Mount Union played about as well as a complete football team can play in its rout of Ohio Northern (1-3, 1-2) at home.
The Purple Raiders (4-0, 3-0) returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown, gained more than 500 yards offensively and allowed only 147.
Senior Blair Skilliter ran for two touchdowns and returned the second-half kickoff 95 yards for another score.
Malone 33, Tiffin 27 (2 OT)
Malone notched its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win in thrilling fashion, topping Tiffin on running back Malik Felton’s 12-yard run right up the middle in the second overtime. Felton ran for 130 yards on 22 carries and three scores.
Malone (1-3, 1-3) and Tiffin (1-4, 0-4) traded field goals in the first overtime period, and the Pioneer defense held Tiffin scoreless in the second one when defensive lineman Brock Lundeen blocked a 35-yard field-goal attempt.
Denison 30, Wooster 22
The College of Wooster rallied from a 30-7 deficit late in the game to draw within one score but eventually lost to Denison to fall to 1-3 on the season.
Wooster’s Richard Barnes found Jordan McIntyre from nine yards out and reserve quarterback Brett Frongillo threw a 48-yard score with under two minutes left. Wooster got the ball back, but Frongillo was sacked on a would-be Hail Mary attempt.
