Canton Charge 102, Erie BayHawks 100

In another single-possession final, the Canton Charge (16-24) beat host Erie on Saturday night.

Trailing 100-95 with 2:03 left in the game, the Charge strung together four defensive stops to help close the game on a 7-0 run. Trailing 100-99 with 21.1 seconds left, Canton’s Marcus Thornton got off a 14-foot jumper before the shot clock expired to put Canton ahead by one.

After 13 first-half turnovers led to 19 BayHawks (21-19) points, the Charge only surrendered four second-half turnovers for five points.

Thornton led the Charge scorers with 18 points and Grant Jerrett had 17. Andrew White scored 18 points off the bench to lead the BayHawks.
