Chris Bosh had 26 points and 15 rebounds, Norris Cole scored a career-high 23 points after winning Miamiís starting point-guard job, and the Heat opened the post-LeBron James era with a 107-95 win over the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Dwyane Wade added 21 points for Miami, 12 of those down the stretch after he briefly departed with a leg injury. Luol Deng, part of the class assembled after James departed, scored 12. Marcin Gortat and Drew Gooden led the Wizards with 18 points apiece. Paul Pierce added 17 in his Washington debut and John Wall finished with 16 points and 11 assists.

Bulls 104, Knicks 80

Pau Gasol had 21 points and 11 rebounds in his Chicago debut, Derrick Rose scored 13 points and the Bulls spoiled Derek Fisherís first game as an NBA coach by beating the host New York Knicks. Reserve Taj Gibson finished with 22 points to lead the Bulls. Carmelo Anthony had 14 points for the Knicks, who visit the Cavaliers on Thursday.

Pacers 103, 76ers 91

Roy Hibbert had 22 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks, leading the Indiana Pacers to a victory over visiting Philadelphia. Tony Wroten led the 76ers with 22 points. Nerlens Noel had six points and 10 rebounds in his NBA debut.

Raptors 109, Hawks 102

DeMar DeRozan had 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, Kyle Lowry added 11 points and 10 assists, and the host Toronto Raptors opened their defense of the Atlantic Division title with a victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Amir Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Jonas Valanciunas scored 17 points. Kyle Korver, Jeff Teague and Mike Scott each scored 20 points for the Hawks, and Paul Millsap had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Hornets 108, Bucks 106

Kemba Walker made a 21-footer from the top of the key with five seconds left in overtime to lift Charlotte over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks, providing a winning conclusion for fans celebrating the return of the Hornets name. Walker finished with 26 points, including a tying 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left in regulation. Marvin Williams had 19 points, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 17 and Al Jefferson finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte. The Bucks were led by Brandon Knight, who had 22 points and 13 assists.

Celtics 121, Nets 105

Rajon Rondo returned from a broken hand and had 13 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds in the season opener to help the Boston Celtics beat the visiting Brooklyn Nets. Kelly Olynyk had 19 points and Jeff Green added 17 for Boston. Mirza Teletovic had 20 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench for the Nets. Joe Johnson scored 19 points for Brooklyn, and Deron Williams had 19 points and eight assists.

Grizzlies 105, Timberwolves 101

Marc Gasol scored a career-high 32 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves for the franchiseís first victory in a season opener since 2000.

Zach Randolph added 25 points and 13 rebounds for Memphis. Thaddeus Young had 26 points in his first game with the Timberwolves. Mo Williams scored 18 points and Shabazz Muhammad finished with 13.
