Browns (5-10) at Steelers (7-8)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Off (Both quarterbacks questionable).
The skinny: Steelers look to avoid being swept by the Browns for the first time since 1988 and their first losing season since 2003.
The pick: Steelers.
Eagles (4-11) at Giants (8-7)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Giants by 7½.
The skinny: The Super Bowl champs are on the brink of being home in January. The Eagles have won eight of their past nine games against the Giants, and are 7-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in those games. Philadelphia will be motivated to win in what most likely is Andy Reid’s swan song, but I think the Giants win, cover ... and miss the playoffs.
The pick: Giants.
Bears (9-6) at Lions (4-11)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Bears by 3.
The skinny: The Bears will sneak into the playoffs, thanks to the Lions — 0-7 overall and 1-6 against the spread in their past seven games.
The pick: Bears.
Texans (12-3) at Colts (10-5)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Texans by 7.
The skinny: The inconsistent Texans (2-4 against the spread in their past six games) can clinch the AFC’s top spot and home-field advantage with a win. The best sight from this game, or any game this season, will be Colts coach Chuck Pagano back on the sidelines. All the best, coach!
The pick: Colts.
Ravens (10-5) at Bengals (9-6)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Bengals by 2½.
The skinny: Both teams are in the playoffs and want to get out of this game without any injuries. Take the points.
The pick: Ravens.
Jets (6-9) at Bills (5-10)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Bills by 3½.
The skinny: It’s never a dull moment around Gang Green. First, we hear that last week Tim Tebow opted out of running the Wildcat offense, only to have Tebow come out and say he never did. Now, the Jets — who have won six games in a row against the Bills, eight of their past nine overall including 6-3 against the spread — have to go back to original starter Mark Sanchez because Greg McElroy has a concussion. Can’t you just see it: Sanchez gets banged up against the Bills, and Tebow comes in and leads the Jets to an improbable late win? Now that would be some finish!
The pick: Jets.
Panthers (6-9) at Saints (7-8)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Saints by 5.
The skinny: The Panthers (three consecutive wins and covers) could be playing for coach Ron Rivera’s job, and haven’t forgotten last year’s season-ending 45-17 loss. The Saints are looking to end the forgettable “Bountygate” season with a .500 record. The Panthers, 10-1 against the spread in their past 11 games in New Orleans, will keep it close.
The pick: Panthers.
Buccaneers (6-9) at Falcons (13-2)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Off (Falcons resting players?).
The skinny: The Falcons claim they’re going to play their starters and harness their inner Herm Edwards and “play to win” against the Buccaneers, who are 0-5 overall in the past five games (1-3-1 against the spread). Tread softly.
The pick: Falcons.
Jaguars (2-13) at Titans (5-10)
Time: 1 p.m. today. Line: Titans by 4.
The skinny: Jacksonville is a surprising 5-2 against the spread on the road this season.
The pick: Jaguars.
Cardinals (5-10) at 49ers (10-4-1)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: 49ers by 16½.
The skinny: The 49ers will clinch the NFC West with a win and will be pumped up after an embarrassing loss at Seattle. Arizona is 1-6 on the road.
The pick: 49ers.
Rams (7-7-1) at Seahawks (10-5)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: Seahawks by 10½.
The skinny: Seattle (6-1 against the spread the past seven games) can still win the NFC West but needs a win and a 49ers’ loss. The Seahawks can get a first-round bye if those events occur plus a Packers’ loss.
The pick: Seahawks.
Packers (11-4) at Vikings (9-6)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: Packers by 3½.
The skinny: The Vikings are in with a win. The trouble is, the Packers (12-3 against the spread in their past 15 games against winning teams) get a first-round bye with a win. I predict the Vikings go 0-for-2 in their quest today: No single-season rushing record for Adrian Peterson and no playoffs.
The pick: Packers.
Dolphins (7-8) at Patriots (11-4)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: Patriots by 10.
The skinny: The Patriots are playing for a first-round bye and need a win here, plus a loss by either the Broncos or the Texans. Tom Brady will have a field day.
The pick: Patriots.
Chiefs (2-13) at Broncos (12-3)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: Broncos by 16.
The skinny: Denver has won 10 in a row (7-3 against the spread) and will clinch a first-round bye with a win. The Chiefs will clinch the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft with a loss.
The pick: Broncos.
Raiders (4-11) at Chargers (6-9)
Time: 4:25 p.m. today. Line: Off (Raiders quarterback questionable).
The skinny: Oakland, 1-7 against the spread in its past eight games, might start quarterback Matt Leinart. It could be coach Norv Turner’s final game in San Diego. Happy trails!
The pick: Chargers.
Cowboys (8-7) at Redskins (9-6)
Time: 8:20 tonight. Line: Redskins by 3.
The skinny: Robert Griffin III and the Redskins have won — and covered — six in a row. Washington has covered six of its past seven games against Dallas, which is 1-5 with quarterback Tony Romo in its past six Week 17 games when its season comes down to a win and in (see: make the playoffs).
The pick: Redskins.
