Kent State junior Corey Connors was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time this season on Thursday after his performance at the PING/Golfweek Preview earlier this week.

Connors tied for 12th place individually and led the 13th-ranked Golden Flashes to a tie for 11th place overall. Connors shot a 3-over-par 73 on Sunday, a 1-over-par 71 on Monday and a 2-under-par 68 on Tuesday.

Taylor Pendrith finished with a 3-over-par 213 and tied for 16th place. Kevin Miller tied for 39th and Nicholas Scott tied for 69th.

The Golden Flashes travel to Dublin for the Jack Nicklaus Intercollegiate Oct. 8-9.

Volleyball

Kent State lost in straight sets to host Ohio on Thursday.

The Bobcats defeated the Golden Flashes 25-19, 28-26, 25-22 for the 3-0 win.

Hannah Herc had 21 digs and Aleksandra Nowak had 25 assists for the Golden Flashes (4-11, 1-2 Mid-American Conference).

Tinuke Aderemi-Ibitola had nine kills and two aces to lead the Flashes.

KSU hosts Central Michigan on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center.
