The Kent State University women’s golf team finished in second place with a 3-over 867 at the Dickson at the Woodlands Country Club in the Woodlands, Texas.

Pimnipa Panthong, the nation’s 11th ranked golfer, finished tied for fifth with a 4-over 212. Wad Phaewchimplee finished tied for seventh, Michaela Finn and Karoline Stormo each finished tied for 29th and Marissa Kirkwood finished tied for 82nd.

The Golden Flashes travel to St. George, Utah, on March 13 for the BYU at Entrada Classic.

Men’s golf

Senior Ian Holt (Stow) finished tied for third place with a 6-under 210 to lead Kent State to a third-place finish at the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, La.

The Golden Flashes carded a 13-under 851 and shot even par in Tuesday’s third and final round.

Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit) shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish in 12th place, while Gisli Sveinbergsson and Will Kurtz (Hudson) finished the tournament in 21st place and 34th place, respectively.

• The University of Akron finished in 11th place at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Elliott Grayson led the Zips with a fourth-place finish with a 5-under 211.
