Kent State’s offense was on display Sunday at St. Bonaventure, where the Golden Flashes women’s soccer team posted a 4-0 win.

Kent State outshot the Bonnies 18-5, with 13 of those on goal. Cameron Shedenhelm scored on both of her shots on goal to lead the Flashes to their first win of the season.

Vital Kats and Hayden Pascoe also scored for the Flashes (1-2-0).

Kent State goalkeeper Katie Kingsbury received her first start of the season and recorded the win, despite not making a save.

UA women’s soccer

The host Ramblers beat the University of Akron 4-1 at the Loyola of Chicago Tournament.

The Ramblers built a 2-0 early lead before a goal by UA freshman Elise LaCourt cut the score to 2-1. Ally Brown had her first collegiate assist on LaCourt’s score.

Loyola then closed out the win by scoring two more goals on the Zips (1-2-1) in the match’s final 25 minutes.

Kent State field hockey

Kent State (0-2) dropped its second match of the season, 5-1 at Monmouth (2-0) in West Long Branch, N.J., on Sunday.

Down 4-0 just before halftime, Helen Harper scored the only goal for the Golden Flashes.
