Kent State’s Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit) fell 12 spots to a 14th-place tie on Sunday, shooting a 3-over 75 at Karsten Creek in the Men’s NCAA Division I Championships in Stillwater, Okla.

Johnson was at 2 under overall.

Bjarki Petursson had the Golden Flashes’ low round, a 2-under 70, on Sunday and was tied for 43rd overall. Gisli Sveinbergsson carded a 72, and Ian Holt (Stow) shot a 4-over 76.

As a team, Kent State advanced out of stroke play to Monday’s round by making the cut of the top 15 teams. The Golden Flashes were eighth overall at 8 over. Duke was atop the team leaderboard at 10 under, followed by top-ranked Oklahoma State at 7 under.
