Gerrad Rohan went 4-for-4 with two RBI, leading the University of Akron baseball team to a 4-2 win over host Youngstown State on Wednesday.
Starter Josh Lapiana picked up his second consecutive win, going six innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on one walk with four strikeouts. Lapiana improved to 2-3 with the win.
Eighth-ranked Baldwin Wallace scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning for an 8-3 nonconference win over visiting Wooster. The Yellow Jackets (28-8) have won seven consecutive games. Wooster (30-7), which is ranked sixth nationally, had its 10-game wining streak snapped on Tuesday. Wooster has now lost two straight games.
