Akron is 10th and Ohio State third after the first two rounds of the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati. Kentucky is in first place, 4 strokes ahead of Arkansas.

The Zips’ Elliott Grayson shot a 1-over 72 in the morning and came back to shoot a 69. Mitchell McFarland also carded a 69 for the Zips in the second round. George Baylis shot a 68, and is tied for 29.

Ohio State junior Daniel Wetterich is the clubhouse leader at 10 under after two rounds.

Kent State University alum Corey Conners secured his PGA Tour card this weekend at the DAP Championship at Canterbury Country Club in Beachwood.

Conners finished 11th overall in the Web.com Tour event. He entered the final day needing to finish within the top 17 to secure his spot on the PGA Tour.

Women’s golf

The College of Wooster women’s golf team topped three Division II programs and carded the third-lowest round of the tournament on Monday at the Ohio Valley University Fall Classic at the Marietta Country Club. The Fighting Scots placed fourth out of eight teams with a two-day total of 717.
