The University of Akron men’s golf team was in 12th place Monday after the second day of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.

The team was 22-over par after 36 holes with a two-day total of 598.

Leading the way for the Zips was junior Elliott Grayson with an 8-under 136. That score put Grayson in the individual lead, three strokes ahead of second-place Connor Bruns of Furman.

The 28th-ranked Kent State men’s team shot a 282 and fell to third place on the second day of the Louisiana Classic at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.

Golden Flashes senior Ian Holt (Stow) was the individual leader with an 8-under 136.

Kent State trailed team leader Texas A&M by eight strokes, with the Aggies at 21-under with a 555 and the Flashes 13-under with a 563.

Chase Johnson and Bjarki Petursson were the other Flashes below par at minus-3 and minus-1, respectively.
