The Akron Beacon Journal's own Jason Lloyd was at Urban Meyer's first weekly news conference on Monday and wrote about Ohio State's new Twitter ban. (Story here) The story has broke nationally and people across the spectrum have an opinion.


Without fail, those reactions are mixed. The commenters on Ohio.com mostly have come out in favor of OSU's new policy. This comment from the user "Reality_Speaks" particularly stood out:


Seriously? How about courtesy? Listen to what he is talking about, record it or write it down, but why does anyone need to type away while someone is talking? I supposed movie theaters who ban cell use during a movie are also power hungry? Give me a break.


Expectedly, the reactions on Twitter have been in favor of journalists tweeting. Most of the opinions, though, are from media people (or at least those fashioning themselves as such):
