RubberDucks 12, Baysox 5

In the RubberDucks’ five-run third inning, they received two clutch, two-run hits to open a four-game road trip to Bowie, Md. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Ducks, who maintained their hold atop the Eastern League’s Western Division.

Willi Castro’s bases-loaded double scored Mark Mathias and Bobby Bradley. Connor Marabel followed with a two-run single that plated Sicnaf Loopstok and Castro as the Ducks took a 4-1 lead. Marabell scored to make it 5-1 when Ka’ai Tom reached on an error.

Bradley added two more runs with a home run, his 13th, in the fourth. He hit his 14th in the top of the ninth, a solo shot. Andrew Calica also had three RBI with a solo homer in the sixth inning and a two-run single in the ninth.

The Ducks pounded out 11 hits to respond each time the Baysox scored.

The offensive output helped the Ducks increase their lead over the Harrisburg Senators and Altoona Curve to 2½ games.
