RubberDucks 13, Baysox 3

The RubberDucks responded to Baysox batter Anthony Santander’s two-run homer in the first inning in a big way.

The Ducks answered and then some with eight runs in the top of the second inning to beat the Baysox on Wednesday night.

After Santander hit his fourth homer of the year, the Ducks’ offense went into high gear in support of starting pitcher Sean Brady (5-3).

The Ducks sent 13 men to the plate in the second inning. Sam Haggerty’s two-run double was the big blow in the eight-hit second. Andrew Calica followed Haggerty with a two-run single.

Of the 17 Ducks’ hits, just two were for extra bases — Haggerty and Ka’ai Tom each had a double. Mitch Brown pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the Ducks.
