RubberDucks 14, Flying Squirrels 6

The RubberDucks spotted the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels a 6-0 lead and then scored 14 unanswered runs for a runaway victory Friday night at Canal Park.

The Ducks scored three runs in both the second and third innings to tie the score, and then pulled away with a six-run fourth.

Willi Castro went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five RBI for the Ducks (29-19). Joe Sever added three hits and two doubles, and Andrew Calica and Mark Mathias each contributed two hits and an RBI.

Indians outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall, on a rehab assignment, went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and two RBI. Brandon Guyer, also on a rehab assignment, went 0-for-4 but scored a run.

After surrendering four runs in the first inning and two more in the second to the Flying Squirrels (23-21), Ducks starter Dominic DeMasi (4-1) hung around for the victory. He allowed seven hits and six earned runs with six strikeouts and a walk in 6⅔ innings.
