RubberDucks 4, ?Curve 2

Matt Esparza dazzled in his RubberDucks debut, tossing a season-high eight innings Wednesday in Altoona, Pa., to earn his first road victory and help the Ducks snap a four-game losing streak.

Esparza didnít settle in immediately, however. He hit the second batter of the game before allowing a double and a single to trail 1-0.

After escaping the first inning, Esparza was nearly perfect the next seven, allowing just one baserunner and striking out 10. He gave up three hits and walked none.

The Ducks (23-25) were stagnant at the plate until the fifth inning when Yu-Cheng Chang and Joe Sever each drilled triples for a 2-1 lead.

Chang came through again in the sixth, doubling in Francisco Mejia and Dorssys Paulino for insurance runs and a 4-2 lead.

Mitch Brown relieved Esparza in the ninth and nailed down his third save of the year.
