Sea Dogs 10, RubberDucks 9

Storylines: Bobby Dalbec’s RBI single in the top of the ninth handed the Ducks their fifth consecutive loss and their eighth in the last nine games. The game featured 13 combined walks, two hit-by-pitches and eight wild pitches.

Duckbills: The Ducks broke a streak they probably would rather forget when they scored five runs in the third inning. Before that, it had been 39 innings since they had a multi-run inning (two runs, sixth inning, Aug. 4 vs. Altoona Curve). The five runs against the Sea Dogs came with the benefit of just one hit.

Next: Game 2 of the three-game series at Canal Park begins at 7:05 p.m. Saturday when Ducks right-hander Triston McKenzie (6-3, 2.96) faces Portland right-hander Teddy Stankiewicz (7-9, 4.41).
