Senators 2, RubberDucks 1 (12)

Stephen Perez hit as bases-loaded single in the 12th inning to lift the Senators to victory Monday in Harrisburg, Pa., and put the Ducks on the verge of playoff elimination.

The Ducks (64-69) trail the Bowie Baysox (69-63) for the final playoff spot by 5½ games with seven games to play pending the Baysox’s game Monday night against the Trenton Thunder.

Against reliever Mitch Brown (1-2), Dan Gamache led off the 12th with a double, his third hit of the game, for the last-place Senators (58-75). Drew Ward followed with a single to left, but Ducks left fielder Dorssys Paulino gunned down Gamache at the plate trying to score the game-winner, with Ward advancing to second.

Brown then intentionally walked Yadiel Hernandez and, after another out, walked Khayyan Norfork on four pitches. With the bases loaded and two outs, Perez singled to center to score Ward with the winning run.

Francisco Mejia’s 14th home run of the season put the Ducks up 1-0 in the first. The Senators tied the game in the seventh when Norfork scored as the Ducks turned a double play.

Derek Self (3-2) earned the victory with 1⅓ innings of scoreless relief.
