Video of Jaguars’ Fowler has ‘disturbing images’

•?The NFL says video of Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. apparently refereeing a fight between his girlfriend and the mother of his child includes “disturbing images.” Fowler took responsibility “for everything that happened” in the 30-second video released by TMZ on Tuesday. The surveillance tape shows Fowler and the two women standing outside an elevator and talking. Fowler appears to offer a hand gesture for them to start fighting and then steps back. One of the women kicks off her flip-flops before they exchange punches. Fowler eventually pulls them apart. “These are disturbing images and we will review the matter,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.

•?Redskins president Bruce Allen has voiced what everyone has assumed for quite some time: Robert Griffin III is done in Washington. In an interview with the Dan Sileo Show on 1090 AM in San Diego, Allen replied “well, no” when asked whether he thinks the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year will be with the Redskins next season.

Wawrinka wins match ?at Dubai championships

•?Second-seeded Stan Wawrinka has finally won a match at the Dubai Tennis Championships after beating Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the second round. Wawrinka played at the tournament in 2006 and 2008, and lost in the first round both times.

•?Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber made a disappointing return to tournament tennis, losing 7-5, 6-1 to China’s Zheng Saisai in the second round at the Qatar Open.

Penguins defenseman?out indefinitely with injury

•?The Pittsburgh Penguins will have to continue their playoff push without veteran defenseman Ben Lovejoy. Coach Mike Sullivan said that Lovejoy is dealing with a “long-term” upper body injury and is out indefinitely. The 32-year-old Lovejoy left last Saturday’s loss to Tampa Bay midway through the second period following a collision with Lightning forward J.T. Brown.

•?Looking to add depth for a playoff run, the Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Mike Weber from the Buffalo Sabres for a third-round pick in the 2017 draft.

Kansas boots cornerback and suspends linebacker

•?Kansas has dismissed cornerback Eric Rivers and suspended linebacker Kendall Duckworth after both were arrested early Monday in connection with an alleged robbery over the weekend. Rivers has also been accused of sexual battery and criminal restraint in a separate incident.

•?Stanford sophomore forward Reid Travis will miss the remainder of the season because of a leg injury sustained in December.
