CLEVELAND:Nick Swisher sat out tonight’s game with soreness in his left shoulder.

“”It’s been nagging him a little,’’ manager Terry Francona said. ‘”We’ve been playing the heck out of him. I wouldn’t be shocked if I he got tomorrow off.’’

That would give Swisher three days to rest the shoulder (including an off day Thursday), which might be feeling the affects of playing both right field and first base.

“”Probably that’s what happened,’’ Francona said. “”That’s why I’ve hesitated doing it at times.’’

Francona thinks the soreness also is affecting Swisher’s swing. Over his past seven games, Swisher is batting .154 (4-for-26).
