Thunder 5, RubberDucks 4

The bottom of the Trenton lineup did most of the offensive damage Wednesday night as the Thunder beat the RubberDucks (22-17) to win the rubber match of a three-game series. All three games were decided by one run.

The final four batters in the lineup accounted for seven of the Thunder’s nine hits. Ben Ruta and Chace Numata each drove in two runs for the Thunder (24-14).

Ducks starter Sean Brady gave up six hits, four runs — one earned — and three walks in three innings. He left the mound after the third inning, when the Thunder scored three times to take a 4-3 lead.

Neither starter was involved in a decision. The Ducks’ Nick Pasquale (1-1) surrendered one run in three innings and took the loss.
