Beacon Journal staff report

An estimated 60 cartons of cigarettes have been stolen by two men who targeted convenience stores at least 12 times since October, police said.

Police have released surveillance photographs of the suspects and are seeking the publicís help in identifying the men.

Akron police say the duo have typically visited area stores and asked to purchase five or more cartons of cigarettes. Once the items are on the counter, the men grab the cartons and flee.

In one case, a clerk was shoved out of the way by one of the men who jumped over a counter to take the cigarettes, police said.
