An Akron woman injured her hand while forcing a stranger out of her house early Sunday morning, police said.
The incident happened about 3 a.m. inside a home in the 700 block of Fess Avenue when the 38-year-old woman’s dogs started barking.
The woman, who was working on her home computer, said she went to check on her pets when she saw the stranger standing in the kitchen. The man appeared to be intoxicated and resisted when the woman rushed him and tried to push him out the side door, police said.
The woman hurt her hand while yelling, pushing and hitting the stranger. Eventually, the man left the home without taking anything. Police said it appears he entered through an unlocked door.
Police say the man is white and in his early 20s. He wore blue jeans and a black coat.
