Well it looks like we have about 100 sole-mates out there, team. That's amazing! Still, I don't want anyone to struggle to find parking or get lost in too big of a crowd so we're going to break into two groups Saturday - one at 9 a.m., one at 11 a.m. Watch your email. I'm going to ask your preference.

There are several parking lots. We are going to meet at the one at 200 E. Warner Road. See the black circle on the map above. There is no pavilion, so we'll just gather around our speaker. If you want to sit for that portion, feel free to bring a lawn chair. I know for health reasons, some of you might prefer to sit and save your energy for the walk.

If you can't find a parking spot, you'll see from the map there is another lot just above and to the right on Harrington, where it says Tuscarawas Shelter. (There is another parking lot further up on Harrington by Turtle Pond but don't park there. The park is having a fishing derby during the same hours.) Third choice, and hopefully we won't need it, is the parking lot at the top left of the map, the Coventry Oaks area. If you park there, you'll need to just hop on a trail and walk down to meet us.

Firestone Metro Park has 2 trails. You can train on either one Saturday.

If it rains all week, there's a chance we'll hit some muddy areas, the park people tell me. No way to know for sure, and we can't always have a perfect day, so we'll make the best of it!

I also noticed this "walking course" on the Firestone Metro Parks page. I confess I don't know what that is, but we can check it out. It might suit some of our beginning walkers:

If you're not familiar with Firestone Park, you can read more about it here: http://www.summitmetroparks.org/firestone-metro-park.aspx

If you don't make it Saturday, that's okay. I'll be sending you an email next week to see how your training is doing.

Oh, and don't forget to send me some selfies! I want to see those happy and hopeful faces!
