A former Coventry Township man is accused of kidnapping and forcing a woman at gunpoint to travel with him to southern Ohio.
Anthony Phillips, 35, was arrested Thursday in Cuyahoga Falls. He was being held in the Summit County Jail on kidnapping and menacing by stalking charges.
Earlier in May, Summit County sheriff’s deputies investigated the abduction of a woman who told detectives she was assaulted, threatened and forced at gunpoint to drive with Phillips to southern Ohio.
The woman eventually escaped and contacted sheriff’s deputies.
Detective say Phillips also had arrest warrants for menacing and telephone harassment.
