Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill
How he did it: The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Hill finished in a three-way tie for first place among receivers in the 40-yard dash (4.36 seconds). He also ranked first in the broad jump (11 feet, 1 inch) and fourth in the vertical jump (39› inches) among receivers. In position drills, he caught every pass, except for one that was thrown low and behind him. He even made a diving catch after he was overthrown a bit on a long fade route.
Quote: “Stephen Hill killed it,” NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said. “I had a bunch of scouts tell me before the combine, ‘This kid might blow the roof off of it,’ and he did. … His acceleration, his burst, his quickness [were impressive] and even more importantly to me, when he got on the field and caught the football, I thought, ‘Wow, he didn’t double catch balls. He made hands catches out in front of him.’ … You’ve gotta do your homework on this kid, and trust me, he’s kind of pushed himself in the forefront of this wide receiver thing.”
