Akron City Councilwoman Marilyn Keith, Ward 8, is hosting a neighborhood meeting on Monday to alert residents to a spate of home burglaries in recent weeks.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. inside the Northwest Family Recreation Center.

In a message to residents, Keith said Akron police is investigating the break-ins that took place during day time hours around Garman Road and Clemmer and Elmdale avenues. The burglars are breaking in doors or windows to gain access to the homes after residents leave for work.

Keith is urging residents to report any suspicious activity to police.
