Community members are invited to attend a seminar on the opioid epidemic on Thursday in which doses of the heroin-reversal drug will be provided for free to Summit County residents.
The event is scheduled to begin with registration at 6:30 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 Fourth St. The seminar, hosted by Christ Community Chapel and Parents of Prodigals of Hudson, will last from 7 to 9 p.m.
Event-goers will learn the signs of heroin use, receive information on drug treatment and will see how the heroin antidote naloxone, also known as Narcan, is administered.
The event was planned in response to a growing number of drug overdoses in Summit County and across the nation.
Anyone requiring additional information is asked to call Christ Community Chapel-Hudson at 330-650-9533, ext. 339, or Parents of Prodigalsí Ed Davidian at 330-620-5668.
