Second and fourth grade students at Davey Elementary School will be taking Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) over the next two weeks.
The test is designed to measure learned reasoning abilities of students in three areas thought to have a direct correlation with academic success: verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative.
CogAT can also help predict achievement scores when it is given along with the Iowa Tests.
Students will receive the test in the morning every other day for two weeks, and each test will take from thirty minutes to one hour. The results of the CogAT will be shared with families once the tests are completed and the results are received.
