Behind three players who each scored more than 10 points, the Kent State women’s basketball team cruised past Malone 73-59 Saturday.

The Golden Flashes (2-3) were led by sophomore forward Jordan Korinek, a St. Vincent-St. Mary graduate who scored a career- and game-high 28 points. Junior forward Chelsi Watson and junior guard Larissa Lurken finished with 18 and 12 points, respectively.

The Pioneers (2-2) were led by junior guard Rachel Goddard and senior forward Bri Libertore, who each recorded 15 points.

The University of Akron finished its trip to the USD-Courtyard San Diego Central Classic winless with a 86-65 loss to host San Diego.

Senior guard Anita Brown finished as the Zips’ leading scorer with 22 points. Senior forward DiAndra Gibson scored 14 points, and junior guard Hannah Plybon and sophomore forward Greta Burry managed 10 apiece.

The Zips also lost 78-65 to Northern Colorado on Friday. They return home Wednesday to play Rochester College and will host UCF Saturday.
