March plans: There will be a march for North American First People's Day in Akron on Monday. The Lippman School, the Summit County Historical Society, members of the Northern Cheyenne Nation, the Portage Path Collaborative and local schools will take part in the North American First People's Day walk. The walk will start at 1 p.m. at Portage Path CLC, 55 S. Portage Path, and finish at the Summit County Historical Society's Perkins Stone Mansion.

Early opening: The Akron Zoo is now opening early on select days for members to enjoy a less busy visit. Monday is one of the days the zoo will open an hour early at 9 a.m. for members.

Food talk: Summit Metro Parks naturalist Becca Zak will discuss how food impacts the world and tips for home gardening. The free program will be at 6 p.m. on the deck at the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Road in Akron.
