View two art exhibits: You have two weeks left to catch "Jeff Donaldson: Dig" and "Allison Zuckerman: Pirate and Muse" at the Akron Art Museum; both exhibitions run through Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21. Their work is very different, but both aim to bring more diverse perspectives to the art world. 330-376-9185 or akronartmuseum.org.

Learn to ice skate: Have you always wanted to check out the ice rink at Lock 3 but were afraid to because you don’t know how to skate? Lessons will be offered in three 20-minute segments beginning at about 2:10 p.m., with registration on a “first come” basis. There will also be food, music and games. Lock3live.com.

Buy some fresh food: It may be the dead of winter, but there’s still locally grown and produced food available at the Countryside Public Market in the Northside Lofts building in downtown Akron. It runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. offering coffee, pastries, music and lots of vendors. http://www.cvcountryside.org/eat-public-market.
