Red & White on Thursday Night celebrated its 22nd year with 750 people in attendance. The gala on Thursday included food from local chefs and craft beers in addition to the wines, as well as an auction, raffles and a VIP lounge.

All proceeds benefited the Arthritis Foundation. “Arthritis runs in my family,” said first-time volunteer Courtney Hough.

This year’s honorary chair was Dr. Paul Wilkie. Mingling in the crowd were Mary Bird, Tom and Carol Riley, Jessica Burkhart, Ron Zuschin, Richard Brower, JoAnn and Nicholas Panno Jr., Abby Morgan, Barbara Kallenbach and Janet Lucas. WONE-FM's T.K. O’Grady was the emcee.

“I work with the elderly and have parents with arthritis,” said Sherell Taylor, who attended with fellow social worker Rochelle Antwi.

“This event is great for awareness. My daughter has arthritis and she has issues with her joints and it affects her profession,” said Stephen Ashley.

“We want to see some old friends here,” said Kathy Miloscia, who attended with her husband, Chris Miloscia. He added, “We also want to try all the different foods.”

Organizer Allison Harris said, “Our goal is to raise over $90,000 tonight with this event.”

The Arthritis Foundation and Akron Life magazine partnered as presenters. All participating restaurants are 330 Flavor Award finalists and winners as voted on by Akron Life magazine.

Lillie Douglas said, "Anything that supports arthritis and finding a cure is where I want to be.”
