An 18-year-old man was shot Monday night in Akron's Summit Lake neighborhood, just north of of Interstate 76/77.

Police said they responded to a shooting at the intersection of Harvard Street and Russell Avenue just before 9 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a man who lives on nearby Yale Street shot and seriously injured.

He was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General hospital for treatment.

Bullets also shattered a passenger window and cracked the windshield of a 2007 Jeep Patriot parked on Russell Avenue.
