Akron police are investigating two armed robberies Sunday.

In the first robbery, a 17-year-old male and 16-year-old female reported that two male suspects jumped into the backseat of their car at the intersection of Kling Street and East South Street in the city's South Akron neighborhood shortly after 8 p.m.

The suspects pulled out guns and demanded cell phones. They also opened the center console and took an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The suspects then jumped out of the car and fled on foot.

The suspects are both males. One was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, green pants and brown Timberland boots. The second suspect was wearing all black clothing.

The other robbery occurred at 10:30 p.m. An 18-year-old victim reported he was robbed while walking a trail along Massillon Road in the city's Ellet neighborhood.

The victim reported that a suspect came out of a wooded area, pointed a handgun at him and demanded his wallet.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 16 and 22, and 6-foot-tall. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
