The National Weather Service says severe weather is possible in Akron late this afternoon and evening.
Storms - some severe - are expected to move across the state from west to east today.
"The strongest thunderstorms will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts," the weather service says. "There is also the possibility for some large hail or an isolated tornado."
The line of storms could also drop heavy rain - up to an inch - that could lead to the flooding of roads and area streams.
The culprit is a low pressure system that could also bring wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
Showers are expected on Wednesday.
A good weather weekend is on tap for the weekend with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s on Friday and Saturday.
The sunny weather continues on Sunday with temperatures in the 60s.
