More than 100 Ohio homes, businesses and other facilities that embrace clean energy will open their doors to visitors this weekend during the 16th Annual Green Energy Ohio Tour.

The tour, which runs includes several local stops to display solar, geothermal and wind installations and other energy-efficient strategies. Kent State University announced Friday that a series of five Kent stops on the tour has been canceled for Saturday. The campus will be the site of an open-carry gun rights march.

Local highlights of the Green Energy Tour include:

• 308 Bellus Road, Hinckley. View a ground mount system of 24 solar panels about 130 feet behind an 1872 farmhouse from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

• RCPW Inc., 600 Highland Road, Macedonia. View displays and demonstrations of the outdoor power equipment dealer’s alternative energy products from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Akron Zoo will host the Greater Akron Green Energy Tour Oct. 6, with stops at the Old Trail School, a private residence in Hudson and the Barlow Community Center.
