Christian Moerlein Brewing will host a psychedelic party Oct. 13 at its Malt House Taproom to celebrate the return of Big Hazy New England Style IPA.
The limited-release hazy IPA -- which is 6.2 percent alcohol by volume -- will be available on draft and in four-packs of 16-ounce cans. The four-packs will sell for $8.99 at the Cincinnati brewery.
The party will feature live music from Grateful Dead cover band China Cats. There also will be an opportunity to make a Big Hazy tie-dye shirt. OTR Bagel Bar will be in the Taproom with tie-dye bagels.
The Taproom launch kicks off at 1 p.m., with the China Cats performing from 2 to 5 p.m.
Big Hazy won a gold medal at this year’s New York International Beer Competition in the American IPA category. The brewery described the beer as "a mind expanding IPA that has an orange haze and a bright hue. A cosmic blend of Pacific Northwest hops infuses passion and mango fruit aromas."
