WASHINGTON TWP. — An Alliance man died following a single vehicle crash early Monday.

Ohio Highway Patrol troopers said Craig A. Underwood, 48, was thrown from his pickup truck and struck by two tractor trailers traveling along U.S. Route 62 outside of Alliance at about 12:20 a.m.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, troopers said.

Underwood was driving east on Route 62, west of the State Street NE interchange, when his pickup went off the right side of the road, troopers said. The vehicle over corrected and rolled several times before coming to a rest in the median, troopers said.

According to the report, Underwood wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was tossed from the vehicle. He was thrown into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by two tractor trailers, troopers said.
