A 16-year-old was shot in the face Tuesday night at a house in the 900 block of Snyder Street in Akron's Sherbondy Hill neighborhood.

The victim reported hearing a car horn in front of the house and when he looked out to see who it was, an unknown suspect fired a shot through the door and hit him in the face, Akron police said.

The victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center by an acquaintance and is listed in satisfactory condition with injuries to his face, police said.

Authorities said no description of the suspect or vehicle was given to the officers or detectives. The shooting remains under investigation.
