One Akron man was killed and two others were wounded in a Friday night shooting on The Brooklands Avenue in Goodyear Heights.

Officers responding to a shooting in the 300 block of The Brooklands around 9 p.m. found two men wounded outside a car and another man dead in the driver's seat.

A Pioneer Street man, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity had not been released.

A McKinley Avenue man, 21, who was riding in a rear passenger seat, was found wounded near the intersection of Newton Street and The Brooklands. He suffered a gunshot wound to his arm and was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General.

A rear driver's side passenger, a 28-year-old man from Shelby, northwest of Mansfield, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was found near the car. He was taken to Akron City Hospital.

Investigators said a fourth man who was in the car had not been located.

Akron Police Lt. Rick Edwards said the car was parked at a business on The Brooklands at the time of the shooting; it appears the driver attempted to drive off but struck a tree after rolling across the street.

Edwards said investigators recovered two gallon-size plastic bags containing marijuana from the car.

Police did not have any descriptions of the suspect or suspects in the shooting.
