Tallmadge police arrested a man and a teen Wednesday shortly after a shooting in the Chapel Hill neighborhood of Akron, police said.

According to Akron police, the incident began at about 1:30 p.m. when officers responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of Brittain Road. There, officers found a 19-year-old man who was shot in the stomach. Bullets also hit a Toyota Camry parked in a nearby lot.

The two suspected perpetrators, both from Akron, fled to Tallmadge and were arrested by officers there. Anthony Finney, 18, was charged with obstructing justice. A 17-year-old was charged with the juvenile equivalencies of felonious assault and tampering with evidence and taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Akron police said the shooting appears to be an extension of a prior fight between the man shot and one of those arrested. Police dd not say what the disagreement involves.
