AKRON — A 26-year-old man shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon just south of downtown was in stable condition Thursday, Akron police said.
Officers found the man shortly after 3 p.m. in the 100 block of West Thornton Street, prompting a brief lockdown at a nearby public school from which students had already been dismissed for the day.
The man, who was shot in his left arm and left torso, is being treated at Cleveland Clinic Akron General hospital.
