Akron apartments and a vehicle were shot up Friday and early Monday morning while people were inside the residences, police report. No injuries were reported.

In the first incident, an apartment in the 1200 block of Carey Avenue in the Kenmore neighborhood was struck by bullets about 4:30 p.m. Friday, Akron police reported.

Apartment residents were inside at the time. Carey Avenue runs between East Avenue and Kenmore Boulevard; the 1200 block is near the intersection with 26th Street Southwest.

In the second incident, a resident in an apartment in the 800 block of Fess Avenue reported hearing gunshots about 1:30 a.m. Monday and realized her apartment had been hit. Police said they found two apartments and a vehicle at that location had been hit by bullets.

The location is near where Fess Avenue meets Sunrise Drive; it is west of East Avenue and in Akron’s Sherbondy Hill neighborhood.

The shootings do not appear to be related, police said.
