Some local unleaded prices
drop below $2 per gallon
The price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline has dropped below $2 at some Akron-area service stations.
Gasbuddy.com on Wednesday reported 10 stations were selling gas from a low of $1.86 a gallon to $1.98. Seven of the 10 stations were in Wadsworth, with the others in Seville, Norton and Doylestown.
Gasbuddy.com relies on people to report the gas prices they find at stations. The website said that local gasoline prices were trending lower. The highest price for a gallon of gasoline in the region was $2.65 at a station in Canton, according to the website.
AAA, which measures prices paid at the pump, reported the Akron-area average on Wednesday was $2.19 a gallon, down from $2.34 a week ago and $2.40 a year ago. Gasbuddy.com, using its different methodology, reported an Akron average of $2.13 a gallon.
The national average for a gallon of unleaded regular was $2.53, according to AAA.
