Cigar City Brewing is expanding into Ohio.
The Tampa, Fla., brewery will be available statewide starting in January on draft and in 12-ounce cans, including its popular Jai Alai IPA and Guayabera Citra Pale Ale. The brewery also will offer a mixed 12-pack and draft-exclusives of Maduro Brown Ale and Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale.
“We couldn’t be happier to bring our Florida-inspired beers to the Buckeye State,” Cigar City's Neil Callaghan said in a prepared statement. “We’ve had our sights set on Ohio for quite a while and [now] that we’ve found the best wholesalers in the state, we’re ready to join the Ohio craft beer community. With their help and the help of our CANarchy brothers and sisters, we’ll be able to get the freshest, highest quality beer possible into Ohioans snifters and pint glasses.”
Cigar City is part of CANarchy, a collective of breweries backed by Fireman Capital Partners. It also includes includes Oskar Blues, Perrin, Wasatch and Deep Ellum. CANarchy was ranked in 2017 by the Brewers Association as the ninth largest craft brewer in the United States.
Cigar City — which the company says grew by more than 60 percent this year — has inked deals with distributors around Ohio: Superior Beverage Group (Cleveland and Columbus); NWO Beverage (Toledo); Bonbright Distributors (Dayton); and Stagnaro Distributing (Cincinnati).

Cigar City said there will be launch events throughout the state in January. Cigar City is available in 24 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, and the United Kingdom.
