Museum egg drop

They will be celebrating New Year's at Noon at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The museum has hands-on activities planned on Monday and will drop a giant dinosaur egg at noon, 1 and 2 p.m. in the Murch Auditorium so the youngsters can count down the new year. The museum is at 1 Wade Oval Drive in Cleveland. Regular museum admission applies.

 

Cleveland Zoo countdown

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will host a Noon Year's Eve celebration with special events from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. There will be music, dancing, crafts and a ball drop at noon. Regular zoo admission applies. The zoo is at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland.

 

Free movie

"The Incredibles 2" will be shown at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Akron-Summit County Public Library in downtown Akron. Both showings are free. The library is at 60 S. High St. in Akron.

Lock 3 New Year's Eve

The attractions at Lock 3 Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. New Year's Eve. Those who ice skate can also play the Polar Putt-Putt for just $1 more. The park is at 200 S. Main St. in downtown Akron.

 

Nature's New Year

There will be a New Year's celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm with crafts, activities and a toast at noon to ring in the new year. Participants can take a hike and then warm up by a campfire. The park is at 1828 Smith Road in Akron.

 

Nature hike

Take a hike from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Liberty Park, followed by hot cocoa and a campfire. The park is at 9999 Liberty Road in Twinsburg.

 

Winter fun

The Ice Age returns to the Medina County Park District's Wolf Creek Environmental Center. There are free Ice Age animal re-creations, crafts, activities and games. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The park is at 6100 Ridge Road in Sharon Center.
