A house fire on New Milford Road in the Portage County township of Randolph this morning heavily damaged a bedroom, according to Diane Bunker, assistant chief of the Randolph Township Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the person who lives at 2445 New Milford Road was out of the house when the department arrived, she said.

The bedroom and its contents were lost, Bunker said. There is not currently an estimate of how much damage the home sustained.

The house is repairable but is not currently livable, said Randolph Township Fire Chief Mike Lange Jr. There was significant smoke damage to the inside of the home, he said.

Lange said the fire was under control within 15 minutes. About 24 firefighters from Randolph Township responded to the fire after the homeowner called the department.

The cause is under investigation.
