Akron police said they arrested three men after finding three loaded guns underneath and inside a van they were riding in Saturday night.

The incident happened in the 1200 block of Greenwood Avenue in West Akron.

Police said officers were dispatched there about 9 p.m. after someone reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. When police saw a van matching the description, they heard "a metal object hitting the road," police said.

Officers found a .40-caliber Glock handgun under the van and arrested Aaron McClelland, 37, who was sitting in the van's front passenger seat.

When officers searched the inside of the van, they found a 9 mm Taurus handgun in the center console and arrested the van's driver, Bernard Jones, 29. Police also found a .380-caliber Ruger on the floor between the feet of the backseat passenger, Antonyo Harrell, 36, and arrested Harrell, police said.

The men, all from Akron, face a variety of charges, including having weapons while under disability, carrying concealed weapons and illegally carrying loaded firearms in a vehicle, court records show.
